Our little angel baby
"Destiny Hope"

Our little angel Destiny Hope was born May 3, 1999. She weighed 5.6 lbs. and was 19 1/2 inches. She was so tiny she could fit perfectly in her daddy's hand. She melted everyone's hearts and soon learned how to wrap everyone around her little finger.

Destiny was a very happy and smart baby. She performed all her milestones very early except she would never take steps to walk. Destiny had an EMG, blood work, bone X-rays, and a muscle biopsy performed. She was soon diagnosed with SMA 2  known as Spinal Muscular Atrophy, a "fatal" illness. Doctors said she would not live to see her 2nd birthday she is now 5 years old!! We have poured our hearts into living each day with our little girl like it is our last.

At age 2 1/2 Destiny got her wish granted to Disney which was an unforgettable week for us all. Destiny got her power chair at age 3 her very own design of "pink and purple". Destiny is on breathing treatments, ez pap, bi pap, and O2 when needed. She has scoliosis with a 70 degree curve and wears a back brace, to try to prevent surgery. Along with SMA and her scoliosis, Destiny also has Essential Tremors.

Destiny loves to play polly pockets, Barbie's, and dress up. She loves dancing and music. She also loves to fish and go camping. Her favorite food is crawfish, Chinese, dill pickle chips, dr. pepper, and sour candy. She wants to be a candy store owner when she grows up she says "I want to make candy for all the sick little kids like me".

Even though Destiny is on many meds, machines, and uses a chair, she gets up each and every day with a big smile on her face . She never gives up "Hope". I hope you will take a minute to sign Destiny's guest book. And keep checking back on her site for updates and to see what little Destiny is up to. And along with us watch our little girl spread her wings...
